I should be doing my homework, buuuut I decided to take the time to blog about my day 8)
So I’ve applied at FIDM in San Francisco to major in Beauty Industry Merchandising and Marketing. Today was my interview to determine whether I would be accepted into the school or not.
For my interview, I was required to create a product for a well known brand as an entrance project. I ended up doing my project literally last minute because I messed up and had to redo it :( I stayed up until 6AM to sketch my product and put my documents together. I had to write 2 essays about my product, but I fell asleep before I got the chance to finish, and I woke up at 9AM. My interview was at 1PM, and I was originally planning to wake up at 8 to get ready, then leave for my interview around 10:30 just in case there was traffic. But there was no way that I would be able to follow through with that plan because I still had my essays to write. WAAHH :’(
I was able to type up both essays by 10AM, but they were extremely short and brief. I wasted a lot of time trying to make sure I had everything I would need because I was so unorganized :( I left the house at 11AM, but I had to drive to my uncle’s to print out my essays because I was having difficulties with my printer -_-.
I finally left to SF at 11:30, an hour later than I had originally planned to leave. I did my makeup in the car. I must say, my makeup looked pretty damn good considering the fact that I applied it on in the car 8) Putting lashes on during a bumpy ride was not the business, though. I was running on 3 hours of sleep (holy shit look at those bags under my eyes! They’re bigger than my tits omg), and I felt extremely nervous and stressed. I wasn’t happy with my project at all because of how simple it was. I’ve seen projects online, and all of them were so big and extravagant compared to mine. I really thought that I was going to get rejected.
I finally showed up at my interview at 12:45, 15 minutes before my interview. Luckily there was no traffic :)
I felt a lot more confident at the interview. They actually really liked my project, and I didn’t feel intimidated or nervous at all when they spoke to me. I found it easy to answer their questions because I know exactly what I want to do for my career and I’m passionate about what I plan on pursuing.
And…
I GOT ACCEPTED! :D
I will be attending FIDM in San Francisco in July 2013 :)
